What's Up with Elevators People?!

I know it's been a long, no wait, a LONG time since I've been here, but... you know... the busy life of a college student... just... keeps you busy...

Some day this week I happened to be in the elevator with a certain young man named Jonathan, and we were just talking about how the elevator is just one of the most awkward places in the world.

That same day I just had been with someone else in the elevator, someone I knew, and it is not that we don’t like each other (she’s a very nice person) but we don’t talk much and being there, only the two of us, with nothing to say than

Me: “Hey! U still working huh?”

Her: “Yeah, it’s been a busy week…”

Me: “Don’t we have that all of us?”

Her: ” Yeah…”

Me: (Silence. Desperately searching for something to say)

Her: (Silence.)

Doors: (They opened)

Both: (Got out)

It was just plain awkward…

What’s up with that? Why can we be friendly and kind in an awkward, yet social place?

Throughout the world’s recent history and culture, elevators had been the location of many of these kind of encounters. Haven’t we learned anything? Fart, burp laugh or just say hi! Something, anything to make those 10, 15 seconds of entrapment less uncomfortable.

"An elevator (or lift in British English) is a vertical transport equipment that efficiently moves people or goods between floors (levels, decks) of a building, vessel or other structure."

So, as you can see, the elevator was created to transport equipment efficiently through people…

So there, people of the world, please transport equipment efficiently, while you have un-awkward conversations.
